The ODE 3-way solenoid valve is installed on the brewing units of professional coffee machines and plays a fundamental role in the extraction process.
This solenoid valve has a dual function:
• First, it allows hot water to reach the brewing unit shower, which wets the ground coffee and ensures proper extraction in the cup;
• Second, at the end of brewing, it releases residual pressure within the group, drawing water from the top of the coffee pod and leaving the used coffee as dry as possible.
This second function of the solenoid valve can cause malfunctions: coffee particles are drawn in along with the water, which, combined with limescale, compromise the efficiency of the component over time.
Caution: It is advisable to periodically check the condition of the water used and descale the machine to prevent damage and malfunctions.
